World Heritage Day

The Department of History organised a grand and enriching programme on the occasion of World Heritage Day on 18/4/2026. The programme included 2 sessions. In the first session, students of the department presented insightful PPTs on national heritage sites, with the purpose of creating awareness regarding the significance of the sites and the importance of protecting them. The second session comprised a debate competition. The motion before the house was “Preservation of historical monuments is more important than restoration.” The two teams (Team “Preservation” & Team “Restoration”) put up fierce arguments for & against the motion, displaying sharp acumen, logical reasoning and oratory skills, with Team “Preservation” emerging as the winning team. Individual honours were awarded to Khushboo Jaiswal (1st), Aparna Kumari (2nd) and Sanjana Gupta and Shambhavi Singh (3rd).
