On the occasion of World Environment Day, Shree Agrasain College organised a workshop on Climate Change and Sustainable Agriculture in collaboration with Jana Sanghati Kendra on 5th June 2026. An inaugural address by the Teacher-in-Charge, Prof. Sovonita Datta, was followed by a keynote address by Shri Dipyaman Adhikary, Secretary, Jana Sanghati Kendra, on the NGO’s commitment to foster an equitable, self-sustainable, and healthy society in West Bengal by promoting sustainable livelihoods through organic farming projects. The workshop comprising three interactive sessions was conducted by Debasmita Ghosh, Project Coordinator, Tapojoy Mukherjee, Volunteer at Jana Sanghati Kendra and Shovan Patua, Project Coordinator. Each session focused on specific environmental issues, the need for awareness and detailed presentations on organic farming. The workshop was followed by a plantation ceremony where the resource persons, staff members and students planted saplings as a symbol of the institution’s commitment to creating a cleaner and greener environment.
