The Department of Arts celebrated World Environment Day on 12th June 2025. The celebration comprised a series of activities promoting awareness about environmental issues, sustainability, conservation and preservation of the environment. Students presented engaging papers and PPTs on this year’s theme – “Beat Plastic Pollution” – highlighting the impact of plastic pollution on the ecosystem and advocating sustainable development through principles of “reduce, reuse and recycle”. An environment quiz was conducted testing students’ knowledge about environmental science, conservation and sustainability. An exhibition of charts demonstrating the harmful effects of plastic pollution and ways of combating it was organised by the students. The celebration also included recitation, song and dance performances by students promoting environmental awareness.
